Marvin Rivera
Tattoo artist Marvin Rivera was born and raised in Philippines, home of the oldest living tattoo artist in the world Whang-od. Even at a young age, Marvin loved to draw what he saw, especially people. At the age of 14, his family migrated to Portland, Oregon, bringing their Filipino influence to the United States. After high school, Marvin attended community college and took art classes. He also completed a graphic design course. While in school, he realized that his passion was tattooing. He pursued his dream and later became a licensed tattoo artist, starting his own tattoo parlor right here in Portland’s very own Pearl District: Mariposa Tattoo Studio.
From black and grey, portrait, to black work, Marvin is a versatile artist. Check out his work here: Mariposa Tattoo Gallery
